Our Blog

We are a year 5/6 (9-10 year olds) class from Bairds Mainfreight Primary School in Auckland, NZ.

You can see some of our learning that took place in Room 12 in 2010 and 2011.

NB: I have moved to a new school now so this blog is no longer active. You are still welcome to comment and look at the great fun we had over the past two years.

Thank you for all the lovely comments :)

St Clair Wordle

What have we learnt about St Clair?

Wordle: St Clair

  1. Oh Wow! Thanks so much to you all! We loved reading your comments and actually got a lot of feedback from them. We realised that we had achieved our main purpose in sharing what our community means to us.

Yes - the beach, esplanade and cafes are a key part of living in St Clair. We get together there with our friends regularly. We have realised that we may have featured our shopping centre too much and given the wrong idea... the shops at St Clair include a butcher's, a 4 Square, fish 'n' chip shop, a vets and a hairdresser's. They are not really a shopping centre but a place to call in on the way home for forgotten supplies...

St Clair was first thought of as a beach resort even though people didn't go swimming. It was a day's outing for people living in Dunedin which is why lolly shops and tea rooms popped up around the area. Slowly the farm land was replaced by houses which is why you see a lot of old fashioned houses.

We are glad you enjoyed the chocolate! Dunedin made, you know ;-)
