Today we are focusing on Reading, Summarising and Presenting the story. This is the exact same thing that News Producers do.
Reflections
Mele - I think that my reading has improved because i spoke louder and clearer. I would like work on looking straight at the camera.

Our Blog
We are a year 5/6 (9-10 year olds) class from Bairds Mainfreight Primary School in Auckland, NZ.
You can see some of our learning that took place in Room 12 in 2010 and 2011.
NB: I have moved to a new school now so this blog is no longer active. You are still welcome to comment and look at the great fun we had over the past two years.
Thank you for all the lovely comments :)

Week 5 Reflections
Phoenix: I was shy and didn't like talking to the camera and now I like doing webcam stuff. I feel more confident and now I speak louder to the camera.
Michelle: I am getting a little bit good. The first time I couldn't speak because I was too shy and now I'm getting heaps better.
Siaga: When I first talked to the camera I was a little bit scared now I'm feeling good.
Nelson: I felt happy and was excited because i was going to be famous when i first heard about the webcam. When I saw myself i thought that i could improve by looking at the camera and not looking down. Now when i see myself I am looking at the camera and talking to it better.
Tupou: I felt shy at first and now I feel happy that it's finished and I feel cool and popular.
Mrs Jorgensen says: I agree with all of your reflections here! You have made amazing progress in just two weeks. KA PAI! Now that you are confident clear speakers you are ready to work on your expression and delivery of your news stories.
Mrs Jorgensen says: What a sad story you saw on the news, girls.

Room 12 News
22 Feb 2009
23 Feb 2009
Reflections:
Wiremu and Logan. Our voices were clear. We needed to manage ourselves better so that it made more sense.
Sarah and Julia. We wrote a good story. We need to speak louder.
Mele and Mereana. We think we need to speak louder. It was sad that there were people not listening propery in the background.
Siaga and Emma. Siaga had a good loud voice. We both need to look at the camera.
