Our Blog

We are a year 5/6 (9-10 year olds) class from Bairds Mainfreight Primary School in Auckland, NZ.

You can see some of our learning that took place in Room 12 in 2010 and 2011.

NB: I have moved to a new school now so this blog is no longer active. You are still welcome to comment and look at the great fun we had over the past two years.

Thank you for all the lovely comments :)

THE AMAZING SUPERHERO

My superheroes name is Bat girl.

WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE?
My superhero has beautiful long, long red hair.
She is very tall and thin.
She has black wings which she can fly with.
She has a black, yellow and red suit.

HER SUPERPOWERS.

Her superpowers are:
she has the ability to read peoples mind,
she can fly with her bat wings,
she can turn invisible and she has a sword that turns people into a
type of animal that she wants.
she has red eyes that can shoot laser beams and she can
teleport anywhere, whenever she wants.

HER WEAKNESS IS?
Her weakness is sadness.
her weakness is sadness is because whenever she is very sad
she cannot use her power and the only way to make her powers work
again is to either make her sad or angry.

HER SECRET HIDEOUT.
She has a secret hideout all the way in Arizona.
it is hidden deep in a forest and only her and her family have the code for it.
they use the secret hideout for emergency meetings
but she only goes there when shes lonely
and sad.

the learning tent

Here is our Learning Tent
We are working in the tent. It is hot inside, but it helps us to concentrate because we dont get disturbed by what other people are doing.

We are going to shoot our news show from the tent so that there are no distracting things in the background. We wonder what the sound will sound like.
